Can you use slide grease on a trombone slide?

I have a flute Cleaning Kit that has a small container that says slide grease can I use that on the trombone slide?

Slide grease is for tubing. Trombones require lube and water apray . I like ponds cold cream for a light coating and hit it with the water sprayer. Don't use ponds vanishing cream or the trombone will dissappear. That's a joke son !

Trumpet question?

I pulled out one of my slide, and there was a dark black streak on it. Also, the same streak is on the valves! Does anyone know what this is?

By the way, I only use valve oil (I haven't bought slide grease yet), and not anything like vasoline.

Normal - a bit of fine ground oxidized metal that seems to wear off the valve stems.
Just wipe it with cloth and re-oil.

Is there a downdraft kitchen vent that fits behind a slide-in gas range?

I am trying to put in a new kitchen range in my kitchen island. To fit the space, it must be a 30" slide-in model (it has no backsplash/riser - just flush with the counter top.) Currently it is an electric jenn-air with built-in downdraft venting. I have found a new gas range with a self-cleaning convection oven that I would like to purchase, the problem is venting. All the add-on downdraft vents seem to be manufactured for cooktops and extend forward into the cabinet area under the cooktop.

I need to find a vent that has a remote fan (it can be mounted under or on the side of the house) so that it won't stick into the area that the range will occupy. It doesn't need to be one of the fancy pop-up styles, either, just something that will vent my kitchen well. It can be a maximum of 6 inches deep (front to back.)

If I can't find one pre-built, I need to find the proper parts to build my own - grill, grease-catchers, kitchen vent rated fan. I can do the assembly and ducting myself.

We have a downdraft vent and it doesn't do a very good job of removing cooking odors etc. If we were to do it all over again, we would not waste the money. I think you should think about it a little before you act
